PGA Awards
Birdman took best picture honors this weekend at the PGA Awards, signaling what looks to the film to beat this year at the Oscars due to the percentage of its voting membership whom are also Academy members.
I was glad to see Birdman win as it confirmed my own vote towards it over Boyhood which took the Golden Globe two weeks ago. I was especially happy to see Jimmy Skotchdopole, whom I worked with on Deathproof, getting recognition for all his hard work.
Also honored this weekend were Breaking Bad for dramatic episodic television, Big Bang Theory for comedy episodic television, Fargo for long form television, Lego Movie for animation, Gale Ann Hurd for the David O. Selznick, and Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment with the Visionary Award while Jennifer Lawrence was the highlight of the night in presenting Lionsgate head Jon Feltheimer the Milestone Award.
