LMGA Members Gives and Re-gives
Rebecca “Puck” Stair recently interviewed me regarding some of the ways members give back to the community for the latest issue of the LMGA Compass Magazine.
I spoke about some of my experiences volunteering with the Los Angeles Maritime Institute and how I believe sailing and location managing to be natural extensions of each other.
The parallels between the ever changing environment of the sea and film production are many, and in both, training and preparation are important aspects in order for a diverse group of strangers to come together and complete the job at hand, yet when the wind changes and the unexpected occurs, it’s experience and a calm demeanor that will trump textbook knowledge any day.
I was raised to always give back to the community, that through the growth of the community would we grow ourselves and in turn, reach heights never imagined.
