Aloha from the Hawaii International Film Festival, currently running in Honolulu through to November 9th.

I have volunteered this year to assist with managing some of the guest services, coordinating logistics and handling some of our distinguished guests, including old friends such as Antoine de Cazotte who came to discuss his experiences  as a producer at the Creative Lab portion of the festival and new friends such as Jerome Paillard of Festival de Cannes who graciously accepted an invite to visit.

While I haven’t had the opportunity to see as many films as I anticipated, the friendships gained and the insight into the inner workings of film festival management have been invaluable and this festival will be one that I will cherish for many years to come.
