LMGA Awards
On Saturday, March 7th, the Location Managers Guild of America (LMGA) held their second annual LMGA Awards show at the beautiful new Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills.
It was a magnificent evening as location managers, usually known for their practical outfits ready to climb mountains, ford streams, and scout skid row dressed in their sunday best to recognize the achievements of their peers in the past year.
‘Wild’ and ‘The Grandbudapest Hotel’ took top honors in the feature contemporary and period categories for their location managers Nancy Haecker and Klaus Darrelmann respectively.
HBO’s ‘True Detective’ and ‘Boardwalk Empire’ earned its location managers Batou Chandler, Amanda Burbank and Audra Gorman the awards for television contemporary and period categories.
Peter Orth was the big winner in Commercials, earning two awards for a ‘Coca-Cola’ spot along with Jimmy Ayoub, Cyndy McCrossen, and Stephen Pherigo, and with David McKinney on a ‘Dodge Ram’ campaign.
The City of Long Beach Film Office took home the award for best Film Commission while industry veteran Kokayi Ampah took home the Lifetime Achievement award (pictured above with presenters Debbie Allen and Ted Lange).
Producer Caroline Baron was honored with a Humanitarian Award for her work with FilmAid International while tech guru Marino Pascal earned the Trailblazer award for the creation of the now indispensable location manager tool, locolist.
